Return To India!

Hello everyone,

I am returning to India and I am going to write about the return journey and how it is different from my last post about international travel. You can check that out here. Without further ado, here is the post.

3:28 PM EST

I have just reached Raleigh airport. I will be going to Miami on a 2-hour flight. The airport is nearly empty and everyone is wearing a mask. I have not gotten past security so I do not know how many shops are open or anything like that. The parking is quite crowded though. Parking has drastically reduced as the cars left are around 1 half. There are only 20 flights in the next 4 hours. This is around a little more than one-fifth of regular capacity. The security line is also much shortened. Other than that most things are normal with most desks being open and so on. The point that I am trying to make is that things are operating much the same with flights leaving and coming and cars being taken out and then back and so on. I would also like to add that some airlines are not operating currently like Frontier Airlines. One more thing, some people are not wearing masks and there is no reinforcement of saying that people need to wear masks. I am hoping that there will be reinforcements of this rule before boarding the flight. The only difference is that they are operating at much less capacity than normal. I will write when we get onto the flight for Miami.

7:43 PM EST

I have landed in Miami and we have to make a quick connection so I cannot write for long. Miami airport is much more crowded than RDU (Raleigh-Durham Airport) this is probably because it is a big outlet to places like London which is where I am going next. All the shops are open here and it is a very big airport. It has at least 10 times the number of flights as RDU in the next 4 hours and it also has a train to get us around terminals. I will write more when I am on the flight to London.

8:37 PM EST

I have boarded the flight to London and It is quite spacious. Economy is at 60% capacity but the business class is at only 10% capacity so we could take off our masks sometimes. The entertainment is back and there are the same choices as before. Another thing is that they are also serving full meals. People have been socially distanced and we are required to wear masks at all times. I will write again when I get to London.

6:33 AM EST

I have just gotten to London airport and it has many many flights. There are 8 screens of flights for the next 4 hours. That is around 200 flights. We took another train to get to a lounge. Right now we are waiting for our flight to be called. We do not know what gate our flight is in either. The lounge is quite nice. After this, I will be taking a flight to Banglore. It will be my longest flight yet. It will be in the same format as The previous flight. I will write more when I get onto the flight to Banglore. They do not have a buffet in the lounges now they are operating as a restaurant with servers and an online menu. We had many forms to fill out and since online forms were not permitted we had to fill them in again to enter India. I will write again when we are on the flight to Banglore.

6:47 PM EST

We are on the flight to Bangalore and it is a very long flight. I have watched a few movies and I have also played some games. The seats are mostly empty so we can move around at ease. This connection between Bangalore and London is quite new and all of the staff was willing to help. All in All I think that the flight was socially distanced and I was very happy with how helpful the crew was.

8:47 PM EST

We have arrived in Bangalore and I am happy to be bak in India. We have six hours to spend before we make our connection to Madurai. We are eating at a nearby hotel and then we will go back to the airport to catch our flight. There were many forms to fill out and we had to show many different things as well. I am going to go to Madurai. I will write again when I am on the flight to Madurai.
