Why Was George Floyd Treated So Badly And Why There Are Protests All Over The U.S : A Tribute To George Floyd (4 Minute Read)

Hello everyone,

Today I will be discussing the incident that has just taken place. The incident is the killing of George Floyd. In case you do not know what the incident is here is a quick summary. George Floyd was stopped by the police because they suspected he had illegally printed notes. When they stopped him he walked out of the car while all the cops but one searched his car. The last policeman stops outside and put his knee into the man's neck to stop him from running away. This was not needed and that was what has raised a lot of controversies. The man then died from suffocation from the man who was putting his knee on the man's neck. People are now saying that the knee to the neck was completely unnecessary. People are now also saying that this would not have happened if the man had been a white person. They are now saying that racism is terrible because it can be the difference between life and death. So today I will be giving my view on the event that has been causing protests all over the United States Of America. I will also be going back on the traces of racism.

So first I will be highlighting the meaning of racism and what it means in this context. Racism is the idea that one skin tone or community is higher than another. One common example of this is how African Americans do not get the same treatment as white Americans. This used to be much worse to the point where the African American population could not use the same communal things that we think about today. This was stopped when the famous case of Brown .vs. Board Of Education was filed and segregation of almost any kind was completely forbidden. After this, we would love to think that everybody was treated perfectly equally and that we were all forever happy after that. Sadly though we are still suffering from racial injustice and people are still treating African Americans differently than white Americans or other people of different races. Racism has been happening for quite a long time now. If you look at it though it is really stupid that one skin tone is considered higher and more important than another race. There is no difference in anything including the brain capacity or anything that is truly a difference between the two races. The only thing that there might be to say that one race is better than another would be that one race was once treated as slaves. This is not acceptable anymore as that was quite a long time ago and we should have abandoned all traces of slavery and looking down on others who are not of the same race as us. Her is a definition of racism why it might happen and the traces of it. The reason why it might have been applied in this context is that if somebody thinks about he one race may be less worthy than another of something. The statistics show that more innocent black people go to jail than innocent white people. Someone may argue that this is because fewer white men commit crimes than black men but that does that not make any sense since even if more black men committed crimes it still does not explain why more back men are going to jail for things that they did not do. One valid point would be that there are more black men than white men who turn up in court and I would agree with that. This number difference does not explain the substantial gap between the two factors as white men are being let free while black men do time for something they did not do. Now that I have proved my point in this context I hope you agree with me on this count.

Now I will be explaining why people are protesting all over the United States of America. People are protesting because they believe that the policeman would not have done the knee to neck treatment if it had been a white man. People are protesting that people are extreme racists and they are using the death of George Floyd as an example of how racial injustice is taking over their country and that it should be stopped right now. That is exactly why people are peacefully protesting against racial injustice. This is simply increasing the spread of the coronavirus and the government does not want that so they have addressed the problem and they have hoped that the protesters would stop and with them stopping so would the spread of the coronavirus. This did not work though because as you can see that people are still protesting against racial unfairness and against George Floyd's death. The family of George Floyd are now planning to hold a funeral for the sad death of the man who is sparking peaceful protests around the United States Of America. The ceremony if you can call it that will be quite small because of the coronavirus but George Floyd will still be remembered.

George Floyd was an example of racism brewing in the U.S. He showed us all that black people are being mistreated and even though he died he will live forever with us, remembered as a great hero who changed our world forever.
