Can We Ever Pluck A Rare Flower? Edition 1

Hello everyone,

This is the first of a series of posts that will be released each week. Tell me if you enjoyed this format in the comments or if you want some tweaks. I hope you enjoy this first edition of this series of posts!

Today I will be talking about something that can ruin a whole eco-system and disrupt Food Chains when not properly adjusted to or treated. Today I will be talking about the picking of something such as a flower, so small that can change the whole eco-system in the place that you plucked it from.

To start, I would like to talk about what Food Chains and Eco-Systems are, and how they are affected by us.

A Food Chain is an intricate balance of life. It is a more complex version of a Food Chain where each thing is connected. There are plenty of Food Chains in the world, so if you want to see one then just look it up.

Next is an Eco-System. An Eco-System is similar to a Food Chain in many ways such as the fact that they represent the way that animals live, and that they are intricate ways of showing which animals use what and so on. The main difference between a Food Chain and an Eco-System, is that a Food Chain is a Diagram that shows Nature, while an Eco-System is the real thing.

This is a very interesting topic that is quite fun to research. That would take quite some time to talk about though and also that is not the focus of this post.

The final thing I said that I would talk about in this part of the post is the impact that Humans and other external factors can have on Food Chains and Eco-Systems.

To start talking about this, I thought we could start with the impact that Humans can have on these two things. Let’s start this conversation by talking about hunting. Hunting can alter an animal’s population which can cause a long chain reaction that topples other animals like one domino can topple another. For example, if Humans hunted all bees to extinction, then many flowers would not be pollinated, and one thing would lead to another, resulting in the mass extinction of many species and so many other things that no one wants.

There are many other things that humans can do such as cut down trees, make wildfires and so many more. These things take away the homes of animals and also can take away things such as an animal’s food or the predators, leading to over-population. Humans can also take away resources. One example of this would be if a human did something such as building a dam. This could lead to things such as the blocking of water. Many animals would die of thirst from this problem and those who try to go around to get to the water resources probably would also die as they simply would not have enough energy. This can also happen through things such as humans developing technology that absorbs the sun’s heat or the water when it rains. This kind of technology could prove fatal to Food Chains and Eco-Systems, and send them tumbling into chaos resulting in all sorts of problems, not just for humans but for all kinds of animals as well. This is exactly why we should make sure that we should always keep our technology in check and make sure that we are not harming animals in these ways.
