Can We Ever Pluck A Rare Flower? Edition Two
Hello everyone,
I know that I said these would be released every week but I had it ready so I'm sending it out now! I hope you enjoy this! This is the second edition. Also, happy new year! This is my first ost this year and I hope that it is a success!
The other force that can affect Food Chains and Eco-Systems
is a lack of natural resources. I already covered how humans can deplete natural
resources from animals in ways such as building a dam or many other ways that
would lead to chaos. These kind of things like not enough water for animals to
survive and so on, can happen naturally. One example can be in a drought. There
could also not be enough food which could happen if the animals prey learnt to
avoid the predators. This would do two things. The former predator would lose its
food and start to die out from starvation. The opposite could happen to the
former prey. Those animals could become overpopulated. This could lead to
issues such as not enough space for the animals, not enough food and more.
These in turn could lead to them starting to find new food which would break
the Food Chain and also finding new space to live such as cities and so on.
This could lead to problems such as not enough nutritious food, and the animals
dying from pollution.
Now that you know some ways that the Food Chains and
Eco-Systems of the world can be broken, and what they are, I will start to talk
about what one other thing can do. This thing is quite a lot smaller and it is
something that we have all done. It is not truly bad by itself but when
everyone does it, it becomes something that can snowball all the way to
extinction and so on. I am going to start talking about the main topic of this
essay which is how we should manage people picking rare flowers.
Let’s start off by seeing the impact that flowers can have
on a Food Chain or Eco-System. A flower is quite an important part of a Food
Chain. For one it provides food to many animals. These animals gather around
the flower. This provides food to the animals predators. This cycle keeps on
going until the whole thing starts again. This is why flowers, along with every
other thing in the Food Chain, have the power to change it, for good or bad.
Now that we understand what impact flowers have on the Food
Chain, we can talk about how humans can impact the Food Chain through them. As
I mentioned before the main focus of this essay is going to be about picking
flowers. I will start talking about that now. Plucking flowers can disrupt the
Food Chain quite a lot. When you pluck a flower you are taking a small part of
the Food Chain away and I told you how that works out. This happens on a small
scale every time you pluck a flower. This small-scale reaction is not much by
itself. But imagine if this small thing happened over and over again. This
would truly disrupt the Food Chain on a very large scale and that is what is
happening now. When we pluck a flower, we are making a small reaction. This is
probably okay with common flowers that there is an abundance of. What is bad is
when a rare flower is uprooted. This leads to bigger things, faster. That is
the focus of this piece and it is quite a big problem that must be dealt with
quickly for the reasons I have talked about above.
I hope that you enjoyed this blog post. If you did, please Subscribe, read some other blog posts from this blog and comment about this post and also comment below if you liked this format or if you want some tweaks to this system. The next edition will come out soon!
Until next time,
This is Chaitanya giving you Things To Think About
Great points! It would be great if you could write about the value (if any) that humans add to the planet :-)
